| If your startup url is deeper than the root level, then on the link created, put in / for the Rights URL.
Some have found that sharepoint runs better if you use port 80 and set the webapp to not use ssl. The way microsoft designed the pages, you may still get errors about mixed content. If you set your browser to allow mixed content this message will go away.
